Another shot from the Lakeshore Camera Club field trip back in September when the forest floor was still alive with all kinds of creatures. These mushrooms were less than 1cm tall, and were really easy to miss on a casual stroll. I found this Toad just sitting there looking very, well Toad-ish and decided it might be fun. This was 20 images that were re-assembled in post processing to get everything on the Toad in focus. I was on hands and knees holding my camera about 6 inches above the ground under this Japanese Maple to get this shot. Taken early September is Niagara Falls, located just outside of Victoria, BC. That's right Canada is home to two falls named Niagara. There is a remarkable canyon leading to the falls, unfortunately the flow this past summer was really low due to the dry summer. But in Canada we are fortunate enough to have our own rainforests on the the west coast of Vancouver Island. A must do hike is the Rainforest trail between Tofino and Ucluelet. The ubiquitous water activity is surfing, even though the water is a balmy 10 degrees. This is a bucket list item for bird watchers and photographers alike. I could watch the action for hours. And, from Tofino things were looking really good. By the time I got to Tonquin Beach 15 minutes later, the fog had rolled in and dashed all chances of a sunset.
