Two images of Mount Rundle, taken from the shores of Vermillion Lakes during a very foggy and beautiful sunrise. Fun to say and with Mount Rundle in the background, even nicer to to look at. I was watching this couple go back and forth to the woods snapping branches off of the tree and building their nest. It dominates the landscape and there are so many locations for great photography. Pictured is Mistaya Canyon, a marvel of the power of water sculpting a slot canyon in the sandstone. Construction began in 1905 and the lighthouse is still operational today. This view is just outside of Mistaya Canyon, looking towards the Saskatchewan River Crossing. Those long neck feathers are their breeding plumage, something you will only see in the spring. https://photographicjourney.ca/2023/04/23/wakodahatchee-wetlands/ Peyto (pronounced Pee-toh) Lake in Banff National Park was named after Bill Peyto, an early trail guide and trapper in the Rockies.
