There is just something awesome and at the same time serene about Bow Lake. Not only is it beautiful but this is also head waters of the Bow River, which flow East all the way to Hudson’s Bay. Check out my post here.

The peak was named for Ha Ling, a cook for the Canadian Pacific Railway and residing in Canmore, AB. In 1896 he was bet $50 that he could not scale the peak in less than ten hours. Starting at 7:00 am he was back at the start in time for lunch. Well done! It has been a long winter this year. The first snow fall of the season here in Montreal was on November 11, and there were still a lot of leaves on those trees. Here the freshly fallen snow from the night before is slowly being evaporated, creating a nice mist in the mountains. Pictured are the Three Sisters just outside of Canmore, Alberta during sunrise. This is a very moderate 1.7km roundtrip hike at a very gradual slope. At the top you are rewarded with views of these crystal clear emerald waters surrounded by greenery and mountains. Every October/November, tens of thousands of Snow Geese use the Victoriaville reservoir as a pit stop on their migration from Canada's high arctic, to their wintering grounds in the South Western US.
