Rainforests draped in mist, long beaches shaped by Pacific weather, and sunsets that seem to linger just a little longer—Vancouver Island offers the kind of visual rhythm photographers travel for. I spent one week exploring this rugged corner of British Columbia, and while seven days only scratches the surface, it was enough to understand why the island has such a distinct creative pull. Capturing that West Coast feeling in words is no easy task, but this journey is certainly worth sharing. Read it here.

2027 Calendar – Fund Raising for Men’s Health

I am thrilled to announce my first ever fund raising project based on my photography. At its heart, Movember has always been a grassroots, community-led movement. It belongs to everyone who grows, donates, shares and participates. And what it is all about is men’s health, whether it is suicide prevention, mental health or cancer, it’s about helping men get healthier.

The fog had set in solidly creating that moody atmosphere at Tonquin Beach which is just south of Tofino, BC. The Tonquin Trail weaves its way through the rain forest to reach the beach. But you need to be patient for the right conditions, this one image from Mackenzie Beach, just south of Tofino took me four days of waiting for the right clouds. These giants can easily tower over 100 meters tall, creating their own ecosystem at those heights. It took awhile and had to dodge a couple of thunderstorms through the evening. The sun rises over Nanaimo, home of the famous Nanaimo Bar. If you have never tasted one, you don't know what you are missing. Here are two views with slightly different treatments. The first was taken with wavey water, for a little action. The second the waters were calm, creating a nice reflection. The bridge was opened in 1938 and "Lions Gate" refers to a pair of mountain peaks north of Vancouver. This sunrise view was taken from Stanley Park. With its shoreline paths, forested trails, beaches, wildlife, and expansive views, the park offers an impressive range of subjects within a remarkably compact area.
