I am far from being patient enough for wildlife photography. But I do love nature and getting out into nature, so combining that with photography is a natural fit. Every once in a while, I get lucky. So yeah, there are a lot of bird shots here but… .

I am proud to say that my image of Puffins sitting on a rock next to the ocean won Honorable Mention from CAPA in the fall of 2025. The title of the image is “Watchin You – Watchin Me”. This was taken in Newfoundland in early July. I saw this group of Puffins all looking out towards the ocean. I got down onto the ground, lined up the composition and took a couple of shots. Then it was a matter of waiting for some action. I saw the second from left Puffin starting to move it’s head as it was looking around and knew the moment had arrived.
